Annual Silver Streaks Tryouts Continue: September 11-12 The Arizona Silver Streaks' annual player tryouts for girls will continue on Saturday, September 11th at South Mountain Community College (7050 South 24th St., Phoenix) and Sunday, September 12th at Mountain View High School (2700 East Brown Road, Mesa). Tryouts on Saturday will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with registration starting at 8:00 a.m., while Sunday will go from 10 a.m. to Noon. At a minimum, the Streaks will field at least one high school aged team for the 2011 club season. |

2011 Season Marks 12th Year for Silver StreaksOne of the top girls AAU club basketball programs in the state of Arizona, the Lady Arizona Silver Streaks were founded in 1999 and are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Silver Streaks begin their 12th consecutive season of club basket ball in 2011, and have compiled over 650 victories and numerous Arizona AAU and BCI State Championships over the previous 11 seasons. From 2003 to 2007, the Silver Streaks won five consecutive Arizona AAU State Championships with girls born in 1991 or younger. The club travels nationally, including past stops in Portland, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Memphis, Nofolk, Va., Lubbock, Texas, Las Vegas, and Dayton, Ohio. |

Streaks Garcia Named Assistant at South Mountain (PHOENIX, April 26, 2010) -- After spending the past five seasons at perennial girls basketball power Mountain View High School, Silver Streaks Head Coach Blanca Garcia has been named an assistant basketball coach at South Mountain Community College, where she will work for Head Coach Cassie Sawyer. Garcia has compiled over 200 club victories and won three consecutive Arizona AAU State Championships (2005, 2006, 2007) in six seasons with the Silver Streaks. In just the past two years alone (2009 & 2010), she has had 13 of her club players earn college basketball scholarships. |

Guthrie Commits to Pima (PHOENIX, March 29, 2010) -- Guard Briaunna Guthrie has verbally committed to Pima Junior College in Tucson, becoming the fourth Silver Streak player for the Class of 2010 to earn a college basketball scholarship and the third senior from Mountain View High School to commit. She will officially sign in April with Pima Head Coach Todd Holthaus. |

Meister Signs With NAIA Power Briar Cliff University(SIOUX CITY, IOWA, Nov. 23, 2009) -- The Briar Cliff University Women's Basketball program today announced the signing of 5'8" shooting guard Kaitlin Meister of Mountain View High School in Mesa, Ariz., to a national letter of intent for the 2010-11 academic year. Briar Cliff plays in the top NAIA women's basketball conference in the country, the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), which has produced eight of the last nine NAIA Division II National Champions. |
